3 cups Apple Sauce
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. baking soda
4 cups flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 cups walnuts, chopped
2 cups dates, chopped

DIRECTIONS

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Dissolve baking soda in apple sauce and add remaining ingredients.

Bake in a 13" x 9" x 2" greased pan for 35 minutes at 350 degrees F. Cut into squares.
