New York Apple Country® Recipe
APPLE DUMPLINGS
INGREDIENTS
21 oz. can apple pie filling
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
1 cup 2% milk
DIRECTIONS
Sift flour, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening, add milk and mix to smooth dough. Turn onto floured board and divide into six portions. Roll each portion large enough to hold one-half cup of the apples. Wet edges of dough and fold over apples. Place on greased baking sheet and bake in 350° F oven about 20 minutes.
