New York Apple Country® Recipe 1 1/4 can (21 oz.) apple pie filling or topping DIRECTIONS In large bowl, beat together butter or margarine and sugar. Add combined flour, cinnamon, baking soda and nutmeg; mix until well blended. Mix in oats and peanuts. Reserve ¾ cup of this oat mixture; set aside. Press remaining oat mixture evenly onto bottom of prepared pizza pan to form crust. Pour apple filling over crust; spread evenly to within 1/2" of edge. Drizzle evenly with caramel topping; sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. Bake 25-30 minutes or until crust is golden brown; cool slightly. To serve, cut into wedges. Serve warm topped with ice cream and additional caramel topping, if desired. Garnish with additional chopped peanuts, if desired. Variation Makes 10-12 servings |
