Do
You Remember Your Last Apple?
Healthy
news! According to new research from University of Massachusetts
Lowell’s Professor Thomas Shea, nutrients in apples and apple
juice may improve memory and learning. Dr. Shea’s study suggests
that apple juice may protect against oxidative damage that contributes
to age-related brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease,
and may help to maintain brain performance – indicating that
eating apples and drinking apple cider and apple juice may impact
our brain’s health and mental acuity throughout life. Dr. Shea’s
research is being published in the international Journal on Nutrition,
Health and Aging.
So that old adage about “an apple a day” may apply to
brain health – food for thought!
