Apple Dumplings

This easy dessert uses canned pie filling for a quick treat that can be made anytime.

Ingredients

For 6 Serving(s)

  • 21 ounce(s) can apple pie filling
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 4 tablespoon(s) shortening
  • 1 cup 2% milk

Cooking time:   20m

Directions

  1. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; cut in shortening, add milk and mix to smooth dough. Turn onto floured board and divide into six portions. Roll each portion large enough to hold one-half cup of the apples. Wet edges of dough and fold over apples. Place on greased baking sheet and bake in 350° F oven about 20 minutes.
